To the un-initiated, the French Alps may seem somewhat of a circus. With the super rich of Chamonix to climbers on a budget camping wherever seems flat, the ski resorts such as Val d’Isere and Tignes seething with tourists, skiers in winter. Après ski, followed by après après ski well into the night and the following morning.
However, when high in the mountains, the less accessible areas, the off piste, one becomes an outsider, an observer. This series is a selection of my observations.

Beautiful series of shots Samuel – it’s tough to pick a favorite, but the last one is definitely up there. These shots really convey a sense of the chilling cold and swirling wind that make it a magical place to experience
