We always feel like we’ve got to be rational about things instead of just actually doing it for pure enjoyment
From South African independent film company The African Attachment comes this outstanding short film, The Beauty of the Irrational, which follows South Africa Ultra-Runner Ryan Sandes as he returns to Namibia’s Fish River Canyon to run the 84km, Fish River Canyon Hiking Trail in the fastest time possible. While it takes most hikers 3-5 days, Ryan Sandes completed his self-supported run in only 6 hours and 57 minutes, setting a new record.
Located in the south of Namibia, the Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world and the largest in all of Africa. The canyon features a massive ravine, measuring 160km in length and up to 27km in width and nearly 550 meters deep in some areas.
