The sun sets over Yellowstone Lake, the largest body of water in Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park. Situated 7,732 feet above sea level, Yellowstone Lake covers 136 square miles with 110 miles of shoreline.
By early December, the lake freezes over and the ice can last until late May or even early June.
