The Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) is one of the largest owl species, measuring up to 28 inches in length with a wingspan of nearly five feet. They nest in the Arctic tundra of Eurasia, Alaska, and Canada and spend the winters in southern areas, occasionally venturing as far south as the US Gulf states, northern China, and southern Russia.
