I took this photo on a recent trip to the Canadian Rockies. The views in Jasper & Banff National Parks are simply incredible. It’s a traveller’s paradise, and a photographer’s dream. This one was taken from the popular viewing point at Bow Summit, which overlooks the stunningly azure Peyto Lake. I’d seen photos from this lookout before I travelled, and it’s hard to believe that the water really is that colour. But if anything, it’s even more beautiful in real life as you’re able to see the rich turquoise colour in the context of the white mountains and green trees which surround the lake for miles in every direction.

If you’re thinking of taking a trip to Jasper or Banff, take it from me; you won’t regret it. I’ve never been anywhere with dramatic views like this around every corner. As a photographer, I’ve come back with a landscape portfolio to be proud of.
