This picture was taken during my first time traveling to the Swedish part of Lapland, above the Arctic Circle. I have visited Lapland every year since then. This is the last really wild terrain in Europe, where you can see truly wild animals animals and enjoy perfect silence.

For me this trip was a life changing experience. I was totally immersed in wild nature and, moreover, it is relatively close to Europe and very easily reached. I think this is one of the places everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.

This picture shows the beach at the Alesjaure Lake, near Abisko National Park and I found it to be a special shot as the color of the water might suggest a warmer destination while this was in fact taken in the far north!
