Jökulsárlón, southeast Iceland

Iceland’s midwinter sun over Jökulsárlón – literally glacial lagoon – enhances the blueish monochrome colors of the ice and icy waters in the lake.
The icebergs in the lake are pieces of the vatnajökull glacier. They eventually drift into the Atlantic Ocean or end up on its black beaches. It is a beautiful, almost otherworldly place.
