Evening in the Dunes

New Mexico’s white gypsum sand dunes rise into the distance at White Sands National Monument. I shot this particular photo with a Canon 5D and Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 lens as the sun was sinking toward the ground. You’ve got to watch where you step in the desert — once, I nearly tripped over a coiled rattlesnake taking shelter among this grass!
