Sunset in the Oregon Alpine, Broken Top, Oregon

A weekend skiing Broken Top in the Sisters area of Oregon yielded bluebird days and beautiful sunsets.
An extinct, glacially eroded stratovolcano, Broken Top is part of the large Cascade Range. Found within the Three Sisters Wilderness to the southeast of the Three Sisters Peaks, Broken Top is about 20 miles west of Bend, Oregon. The last eruptive activity took place at Broken Top around 100,000 years ago and glacial erosion has worn away the volcano’s cone over thousands of years.
