Aurora Borealis over the Slave River, Northwest Territories, Canada

One night I went for a walk in the bush with some friends and we came upon the Slave River after an hour walking around some dark trails, aurora hunting. I figured if we walked a bit longer we’d get to see the breakup on the river and hear the thunderclaps of the ice breaking against each other. If we got lucky we could see the aurora Whisking through the clouds. Sure enough…
