This shot was taken on a bridge over the Paatsjoki River in Nellim, Finland on March 5th 2012. It was moments before this shot was taken that the Aurora suddenly broke apart and started dancing in curtains across the entire sky. I wish I’d had a wider angle lens at this point it literally enveloped the entire sky! It was such a beautiful display, it was not the fastest or most intense, but created some of the more beautiful shapes I’ve seen yet and I’m so thankful I was there that night to witness it.

The landscape was lit up beautifully by the full moon, and the beautiful green ribbons overhead seemed to embrace us all, hence the title I chose for the photo.
