Escape – for some it’s the aching pull of the open road that tugs at every fiber of their being, whispering to them to throw a bag in the trunk and set off to destinations unknown. Others find escape lying in the grass at the local park on warm days, the green stems tickling their legs and arms as they stare upwards at the clouds wandering the sky. Some find escape in a weekend getaway with their family, watching their children or grandchildren splash through the waves with a look of pure happiness on their faces.
In this week’s Wild Weekly Photo Challenge, we’re challenging bloggers to photograph what they feel best represents escape for them! This challenge really had me wrack my brain, but I knew with over 5,000 photos that I have taken, maybe it’s more like 10,000, I came up with this entry!
Also, a huge thanks to those that commented on my Weather post and to Nick and the folks here at LetsBeWild! I am truly honored for winning the Audience Choice Award!
My best to everyone! –Barb
This is a TRUE “escape”, and I can just picture you there!
For sure, you have plenty of incredible images, and your selection for this week’s escape was a great entry! Just arrived at the oldest hacienda in Ecuador, and I suspect I will glean some great material to reflect ‘escape.’
congratulations on the people’s choice!
Great photos. The swaying palms, white sand beach, and rain-cloud background have provided an escape, for my mind anyway. Love the floating island as well, what better way to escape! Your own island.
This is a great and inspiring photograph!

This photo captures that ephemeral moment when the division between the personal and the universal is blissfully dissolved, allowing inherent unity to bloom.
I’ll be forever scrambling to inhabit that ephemeral space beyond a moment. 🙂 Thank you Dustin.
Amazing photo AND post. Your writing is magical just like you.
