The great outdoors can be beautiful and awe-inspiring, but sometimes it can also be very strange and unusual too. On a winter day above North Florida’s famous Suwannee River, thousands of vultures circled in the sky overhead – a truly unusual (and rather ominous) sight! Nature is the perfect source for inspiration when it comes to finding unusual things to photograph – we hope to see lots of creativity in this challenge as you use your photography skills to capture the unusual!

barb, you are amazing! you are forever on the ball with your unique photos! i love the red in the midst of the barren!
Thank you Lisa! I thought the red object alone in the desert was pretty unusual…not nature as this challenge requires, but fun nonetheless!
Unusual photos are those that capture the imagination as yours have. And – any house with an observatory dome is definitely unusual. Thanks for the photos.
Your red sculpture in the dessert shot is great! I love the wide range of contrasting colours.
Thank you C! It was an amazing sight to see and I loved the contrasting colors too! I had to pull the car off the road to take this photo!
So creative!
Good evening from Golden Gate Highlands National Park in South Africa! We hope everyone is enjoying a blessed festive season!

Unusual challenge, this one…
Such unusual things especially the green growing sculpture and one eyed dog.
Yes, the poor one eyed was once a beauty and won many dog shows. Now he is a bit frightened when you come up from behind and he is unable to locate you really.
Hi again ! Here is my unusual entry :
