My wanderlust trail has taken me throughout Central America. When I ponder staying in one place verses the many areas I’ve visited, I am grateful to have experienced other cultures and crossed paths with so many amazing people. One area preps me for the next, and I am thankful for my journey.

Lisa Brunetti is this week’s Audience Choice Award winner with this magical shot of sailboats bobbing in the sea as the sun rises over Balboa – a district of Panama City, Panama located at the mouth of the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal.

It’s never easy for us to pick the honorable mention winners, but as always we’ve done our best!

Northern Norway ignited in me a wanderlust for further travel in the Arctic Circle. I’ve always been fascinated by the high arctic, especially its light, ice, and animals. In the wilds of the Arctic Ocean are the Svarlbard islands– halfway between Norway and the North Pole. There you will find ice caves to explore in winter, pristine landscapes, and more polar bears than people.

Susan Fitzgerald makes us dream of the Arctic with her stunning photo taken in the partially frozen harbor of Oldervik in Northern Norway. While many people feel their wanderlust pulling them to tropical destinations, it’s easy to see why the Arctic has its own special allure.

Tina Schell has ignited our wanderlust yet again with this strikingly beautiful photograph of Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its nearly 2,000 small islands that rise from the water. What we wouldn’t give to be there right now!

It doesn’t take much for me to have a ridiculously strong desire to travel, and it’s photos like this one, taken in the Dolomites in Trentino, Italy, that remind me why I feel that way.

We’re small in the grand scheme of things and the world is big – I still have a lot more to see!

Gina whisks us away to yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Dolomites – a mountainous mecca for climbers and adventure lovers that stretches through Italy’s provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol and Trentino.

Wanderlust, then, gets me when I see a path or a road – winding, flat or tricky – and I don’t know what will happen around the bend, where it is heading…I just want to follow it to find out…

Few things inspire an immediate urge to travel the way a winding, deserted road does. Jane Lurie has fired up our urge to explore with this gorgeous shot taken in Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, where nearly 1,000 miles of road criss-cross 1,880,461 rugged acres of wilderness.
