We’ve all encountered cyclists with a major sense of entitlement – the ones who will ride in the lane of traffic instead of using a perfectly good bike lane next to it, or the ones who seem to delight in taunting drivers, just for amusement. There are bullies in every sport and certainly plenty behind the wheels of cars. But – the road cyclists in this video, filmed by Dirk Friel, founder of TrainingPeaks.com don’t seem to be doing anything to mess with traffic as they ride in Longmont, Colorado. That doesn’t stop one far-beyond-disgruntled driver in a Ford Explorer from leaning on his horn for the full two minutes of this video, despite the riders hugging the shoulder of the road giving him plenty of room to pass on the quiet, low traffic road. In fact, there are so many opportunities for the road-raging driver to pass that cars behind him are forced to pass him as he drives slowly, angrily honking his horn to avenge an unknown grievance against bikers everywhere.
Other riders have apparently encountered the same angry driver, and those with information are asked to call Trooper Donahue of the Colorado Highway Patrol at 303-239-4501.
